Kiraku Nishi-rokkaku is comprised of four adjacent, yet completely independent, "Kyomachiya" (traditional Kyoto-style townhouse) turned into luxury private villas in an alleyway hidden within a walking distance of Karasuma Oike station.
The Nishi-rokkaku villas are named after the traditional Japanese string instrument that are on display in each respective villa.
Entering the Nishi-rokkaku alleyway and the second Machiya from the left is Kiraku Nishi-rokkaku Kinsou, named after a long Japanese board zither that first appeared in the Japanese court in the 8th century.
Slide open the door of Kinsou to be welcomed by an expansive,traditional Japanese stone entranceway, that blends into a living room with sofas and lounge chairs overlooking a private Japanese garden, The bathroom boasts a traditional "Hinoki" (Japanese cypress) bath, and up the stairs is a queen bed.
If you are a larger group, a futon may also be prepared.
