Kiraku Nishi-rokkaku is comprised of four adjacent, yet completely independent, "Kyomachiya" (traditional Kyoto-style townhouse) turned into luxury private villas in an alleyway hidden within a walking distance of Karasuma Oike station.
The Nishi-rokkaku villas are named after the traditional Japanese string instrument that are on display in each respective villa.
Entering the Nishi-rokkaku alleyway and the second Machiya from the right is Kiraku Nishi-rokkaku Kokyu, named after a traditional Japanese string instrument that is played with a bow.
Slip into Kokyu to find an open ceiling living space that leads into a wide veranda featuring an open-air bath overlooking a private garden.
The bathroom also boasts a traditional "Hinoki" (Japanese cypress) bath, and up the stairs is a queen bed.
